Buffalo mistakenly spends big on who??

Off-Season 2281 (Orchard Park, NY) - The Buffalo Bills had quite a whirlwind 48 hours, and it has left its fan base, as well as many around the league, scratching their heads. The Bills inexplicably signed DL Austin Clark away from Carolina for 27.5 million. Yes, that decimal point is in the right place.

When questioned on this questionable move, GM Mark Ricotta provided a candid answer. 'Our front office believes in developing our employees, so we have a large intern program where they have a lot of responsibility. We had our newest intern, Kram Attocir, take care of our Free Agent bid submission. We had decided to go after Carolina's DL Dave Michaels. But we had Kram prepare multiple bid sheets in order to gain experience. Our internally developed bid application software shows all of the FA's in alphabetical team order on the same screen. While eating breakfast and in a rush, he selected the wrong CAR player. He just wasn't paying attention.'

We caught up with a smiling Austin Clark at the bank to ask for his thoughts. 'What? I can't hear you! I have 27.5 million dollars in my ears!'

'Austin Clark will never play a down for this team' said Ricotta. 'He's already on the inactive list.'

The Bills addressed the position quickly after learning of the mistake. 'We swung a trade with the Giants to bring in veteran DL Tony Byrd' Ricotta revealed. 'He fills a large gap in our DL. And at a more reasonable salary.'

When asked if this flub will change the way they approach intern development, Ricotta shrugged. 'This ultimately falls on me. Kram Attocir will be the goat, but this is my fault.'
