Playoffs 2087 (Miami, FLA) - The mood in the Philadelphia Eagles lockerroom at halftime was tense. HB Scott Dixon had already scored two rushing touchdowns, leading the Birds to a 17-7 lead. 'But we knew we were far from having this game won,' said Rookie of the Year LB Phil Lewis afterwards.

Far from it, indeed.

The Patriots started the second half with the ball and LB Lewis had the defense motivated to make a statement right then and there.

The Pats first three plays resulted in a net loss of 5 yards and they were forced to punt.

'That's when we turned up the heat even hotter,' said Dixon.

QB Greg Singleton took the ball and marched the offense 65 yards down the field, finishing the drive off with a 14yd touchdown run by Dixon, putting the score at 24-7.

'From that moment on the game was squarely on the shoulders of our defense,' said 10yr veteran Cornerback Dale Sadowski who led Philly with 11 tackles.

Phil Lewis had only 1 tackle in the game, 'but his energy level in the huddle is unmeasureable,' said defensive end Eugene Rose.

The Patriots had the ball seven more times in the second half, resulting in only 3pts, a Napoleon Hutchinson 39yd field goal. The Pats punted three times and had two failed 4th down conversions.

'We just didn't have it in us tonight,' said Patriots QB David McMahon.

The Eagles flew home to celebrate their 4th modern era championships. The title marked General Manager Andrew Lewis' 11th championship win.

GM Lewis reportedly has convinced 15yr QB Greg Singleton to return for a 16th season and lead the team back to the playoffs one more time before calling an end to his career.

The Eagles' wild-card 2086 season rewards them with a second place schedule for 2087 and the team loses only one starter, Safety Vern Campbell.
