Sims Throwing on the Run!

Despite being sacked a league high 33 times, Ravens' QB shows poise

Regular Season 2097 (Baltimore) - Morgan Sims must have icewater running through his veins.

This is the only theory that can explain how Baltimore's resident gunslinger (and fan favorite) has thrown for more than 1,500 yards and 11 touchdowns in only five games, despite being sacked a league high 33 times. This doesn't even factor in the number of times he was hurried.

The Houston Texans had an absolute field day against Sims in the second week, finishing the game with 11 sacks and 17 hurries on the quarterback. Sims spent more time scrambling from the pocket and calling audibles from the line than he did throwing the ball.

'I'm surprised he didn't leave that game on a stretcher,' said a member Houston press. 'Did you see how slow he was in getting up following that hit he took from Camacho in the third? Ouch.'

He was, of course, talking about the huge hit Houston defensive lineman Quinn Camacho laid onto Sims. Camacho beat Baltimore left tackle North Williams from the line and within seconds blasted Sims from behind as ge surveyed the right side of the field, driving him face-first into the turf. Sims was slow in getting up, and the play has been making its rounds as highlight reel clip on several sports networks.

Still, many feel that Morgan Sims will be the man to bring a championship to Baltimore.

According to Mike O'Meara, 27, of Baltimore 'The guy has character by the barrel and shows no fear when staring down a defense. With the d-line developing the way it is.. yeah, I can see a title in Baltimore's future.'

So could Sims.. that is, if he could just see past all those pesky pass-rushers.
