Playoffs 2105 (Philadelphia) - In a surprising move, Eagles General Manager Andrew Lewis announced late last evening at the annual Lorne Sundby Gala banquet that he had just fired his entire coaching staff and that he had just completed negotiations to hire staff from the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs organizations.

'It is time for a change,' said Lewis as he stopped to address the press gathered outside the Miami Marriott, just blocks from the Tom Edwards Championship stadium, home to the USAFL's annual Lorne Sundby's Cup championship finale.

'We've had the same staff for nearly 19 seasons and it's about time that we adapt to the current trends in the league,' continued Lewis.

The Eagles have reportedly hired former Kansas City Chief WR Jesse Sydney to coach the offense and former Detroit Lions CB Tripp Block to coach the defense.

Sydney played in the league for 11 seasons and will be installing the K-GUN offensive scheme into the Eagles playbook. The Birds are also rumored to be very pleased with the progress of last season's 2nd round pick, QB Rice Francis, and are taking a serious look at making him the starter in 2106. Francis won the backup QB job as a rookie over journeyman Ed Crafts.

Block played his final season in Philadelphia last year, following 11 seasons in Detroit. Block is well versed in the 4-6 defensive scheme and he will be employing that under-appreciated style of defense into the Birds' playbook.

The Eagles return their entire defensive back unit, but they lost two starters from their defensive line and two starters from their linebacker corps.

Lewis will need to bring in a few veteran players if he wants to remain a playoff contender.
