(Detroit, MI) - GM Nolan Harrison was sitting by himself in the stands watching mini-camp action and saw 'Jetson' McElroy running sprints and thought to himself, 'Man, this guy is fast!' And then it only took one preseason game and he was getting McElroy's agent into the Detroit front office.
'I love this guy,' GM Harrison said. 'I wanted to get the franchise contract in place, minimally. And then I told Jetson, I want you running the ball here for as long as you can.'
It's reported that there were several incentives in the contract as well worth at least double the gauranteed franchise contract. Nolan said he offered to build a personal shower section for McElroy as well, but Rick declined saying he did not want to separate himself from the team.
