After 1-4 start, Carolina makes the playoffs

Playoffs 2130 (Charlotte) - After their 1-4 start, many Carolina Panthers fans settled in for a long season. Being 3-7 after 10 games, many of the players themselves were already making postseason vacation plans. But after a four game winning streak to end the season, the Panthers have made the playoffs.

'Playoffs?' Remley hollered when asked by reporters about the Panthers chances of making the playoffs after the 1-4 start. 'We've won one lousy game and you're talking about playoffs?'

Then again after the 3-7 record when he was asked the same question. The media even admitted they were trying to get another rise out fo the usually inflappable GM.

'Playoffs?' Remley had repeated. 'We've won three whole games so far, I'm trying to talk most of my offensive line out of retiring and you're talking about playoffs?'

Then Remley got the call after the season - how do you feel about making the playoffs?

'Playoffs? We made the playoffs? Really? At 7-7? I don't believe it. Who are we playing?'

Now the bad news - they are taking on the Washington Redskins, who ended the season winning nine straight.

But Remley won't that get him down.

'It's just great even being here after that kind of start,' he says.
