Philly Franchises Erik Garcia

Future of the Defense
By "Lillian Marie"

Pre-Season 2190 (Philadelphia) - The Philadelphia Eagles have franchised their first player under GM Lee Patterson. Erik Garcia is the face of the Eagles defense and isn't going anywhere.

Much like the Bengals press conference Patterson was asked if he was copying his former bosses lead by franchising a linebacker. Patterson replied 'Remley taught me a lot of great things but this here is a personal decision regarding the Eagles.'

A reporter up front followed up with a question about why Garcia was franchised. 'Well Erik Garcia is fast and can tackle as great as anyone in this league. His natural instincts on the field are why we felt we wanted him for the rest of his career. I would go to war next to Garcia and that is why he is a franchise player and my first one.'

'When you were with the Bengals you franchised Mark McNeal. How much of that was your decision and how much was Remleys decision?'

'Look guys I am no longer with the Bengals and frankly I am growing tired of all these questions about that team. I am the GM of the Philadelphia Eagles. I have only good things to say about the Bengals and truthfully I would love to face them for the Sundby Cup this year due to my history with them. I will root for them every week unless it benefits me for the Bengals to lose. Remley is a good friend and I hope he is very successful getting to the Sundby Cup in the future but that is where it ends. From here on out I refuse to answer questions about that team unless it directly involves the Eagles.'

It is apparent that there is no hard feelings and after Remley said he recommended Patterson for the Eagles job it looks like it was a mutual understanding. Looks like Patterson also wants to show up his former boss for the championship. Can a 1st year GM win it all though?
