(Minneapolis, MN) - The Vikings today signed both OL Tony Oden and DL Todd Calhoun to FP3 contracts worth $8mil a season. Oden was selected by Minnesota with the 14th overall pick in the 2212 draft, while Calhoun was selected by Tampa Bay with the 4th pick of the waiver draft in that same season.
Oden broke into the Vikings starting lineup last season and will anchor the line at center this season. Calhoun came over this offseason from the Buccaneers in a deal that sent OL Brad Cooke and a draft pick to TB. He has had a breakout camp and will start for the Vikes this season at DE.
