Former #1 Overall Picks
By "Hugh Stone"

Pre-Season 2223 (Houston, TX) - When the Houston Texans traded away stud offensive lineman Cary Watson, many believed it was for the salary cap space for this upcoming season. As it turns out, it was more about the cap viability for the next few seasons.

Thanks to the cap space provided, Houston GM Patrick Sicher was able to secure two offensive linemen to franchise player contracts. 'We have hit one our first rounders for the last decade, mainly because we have sucked so much and they are cant miss players. Now, we have the luxury of being able to trade a guy like Watson and have the flexibility to replace him with two guys.'

The two guys in question are both former #1 overall picks. Eugene Hicks, the #1 overall pick in 2220 signed an $8 million contract and will be the starting guard. Sebastian Clark, the first pick in 2018, was locked up at $12 million, and will be protecting the quarterbacks blind side for several years to come.

Could this be the season Houston finally makes it back into the playoffs.
