Cincinnati firesale not as first thought

Off-Season 2251 (Cincinnati) - Fans of the Cincinnati Bengals were expecting their team to be totally dismantled this offseason as players like DE Bryan Ratterman, CB Maurice Ross, and TE Arthur Bowyer were dealt. But a funny thing happened on the way to the season....

Cincinnati added some younger players too, and a lot of the veterans are still around. As a result, the Bengals are back at the salary cap this season. Now this team looks like it can still compete, as odd as it sounds.

'We always plan on being competitive here,' Bengals GM 'Trader' Lee Remley said. 'Even in our down years, we always look for guys to help us compete.'

Bengals fans are now buying in. They are lauding their GM for keeping the team in the hunt as they revise the roster.

'I like to keep the fans happy,' Remley said. 'It keeps me happy as well.'

Can the Bengals stay in the hunt this season? Only time will tell.
