What's Next For The Giants?

Giants Ponder Future After Another Heartbreaking Season
By "Donny Wright"

Off-Season 2085 (Albany, NY) - When defensive lineman Timm Reeser blurted out several loud expletives on national television following the Giants latest postseason failure, one wondered how much longer Reeser, and the Giants, were going to be contenders.

Moments after Reeser's emotional outburst, he announced his retirement.

'I'm tired of the heartbreak. I'm done. We have no leadership at the quarterback position. Year after year we have quarterbacks choking away our chances at a championship. Who the [heck] throws for 36% in an NFC title game? A 10 year old? I'm done with the game, man. I'd like to stay on as a coach but I don't want to be part of this team in a coaching capacity if that [loser] Mark Child is still on this team.'

With Reeser's retirement, what's next?

The Giants, understanding Reeser's complaints, quickly assured the fans and Reeser that Mark Child will no longer be on this team.

'Maybe it's time to make changes. I'm tired of the heartbreak too. I understand where he's coming from.' general manager Joe Malloy said. 'Looking back, I'd rather have years of 5-9 and 7-7 seasons than the constant choking and heartbreak in the playoffs. Maybe we should humble ourselves a bit for awhile like Dallas has done and Green Bay is starting to do.'

Not only did the Giants quickly put Child on the trade block, but they've fired their coaching staff. Rumors have it that the Giants are looking to put in an I-Formation offense and 3-4 defense for the next few seasons. They've also extended an invitation to Reeser to be a part of the training staff to help young defensive linemen out. Reeser currently has made no comment about the offer.

Are more changes coming?

'We've sent our scouts out to look over the players for the 2085 draft.' Malloy says. 'Once we get word about the quality of the draft, we'll make our decisions on what we're going to do for the future. We've heard from several GMs about some of our players already, but we're going to wait and see.'
