Bengals fans lament team's plans

The faithful not real happy about another rebuild so soon

Off-Season 2262 (Cincinnati) - 'He's nuts!'

'He's off his rocker!'

'He's lost it!'

'What's the big idea!'

'He's gonna WHAT!'

No, this isn't the latest political chatter or Green Bay fan Herr Gruberschmidt talking trash about their highly successful GM again.

It's actually Bengals fans talking about THEIR GM.

Long time GM 'Trader' Lee Remley has been making noise about big changes again after going 6-8, and the team's fans are saying 'hmmm'.

But this isn't Remley's first rodeo, and he feels he sees signs that he doesn't like to see.

'We just aren't living up to our reputation,' Remley explained. 'We look at results here, not contracts, not reputation, and not how famous you are.'

Some of the team's veterans have not liked being called out, and were told in no uncertain terms that they could find themselves playing elsewhere if they did not like to be held to a higher standard.

That got some attention.

'This is a team game,' Remley said when asked if that was a bit harsh. 'We don't have any time or inclination for egos here.'

Some fans liked that attitude. But others feel that will keep good players away.

'We are who we are,' Remley said. 'I think our track record speaks for itself.'

Critics would have a field day with that statement. But the point was made. Time will tell if it resonates throughout this underperforming team.
