Panthers LB Swafford completes trio of franchise players

Off-Season 2272 (Charlotte) - The Carolina Panthers today signed LB David Swafford to a franchise player lifetime contract, guaranteeing him $8 million per year for the rest of his career.

Swafford was taken with the second overall pick in the 2269 draft out of Clemson and immediately became both a starter and a star with his skill.

'We are glad to make David a lifetime Panther,' Director of Football Operations 'Trader' Lee Remley said in a statement from the team. 'We look forward to seeing him on the field for many more seasons.'
