Last Twenty Seasons (2114 version)
2095-2114 | 2096-2115

What have you done for me lately?

For a while, I’ve wondered about the “Franchise Overall Record” on each team’s page. I’ve secretly suspected that most teams have an incorrect win/loss total posted there. I mean, over the past three years, my team has played more than zero games. ;)

Anyway, I thought it might be interesting to look into a little bit. I charted the team results for the past twenty years. The results are probably what you’d expect, but here they are:

REGULAR SEASON
TEAM W L T PCT
BUF 207 73 0 .739
NE 184 96 0 .657
GB 176 103 2 .632
PHI 161 118 1 .577
KC 154 124 2 .554
CAR 152 126 2 .546
MIN 147 133 0 .525
NYG 145 132 3 .523
DET 144 135 1 .516
CHI 141 138 1 .505
DAL 131 147 2 .471
BAL 127 153 0 .454
CIN 123 156 1 .441
PIT 121 158 1 .434
OAK 116 164 0 .414
HOU 112 168 0 .400
MIA 95 185 0 .339
WAS 75 203 2 .271

Well…”What about playoff records?” Ask…and you shall receive! I’ve ordered them from most playoff games played to least.

TEAM PLAYOFF PCT SUNDBY
BUF 21-11 .656 6-0
NE 12-16 .429 1-3
MIN 16-9 .640 2-4
CHI 13-8 .619 2-3
KC 9-12 .429 0-3
CAR 11-9 .550 1-2
GB 10-10 .500 1-1
PHI 6-12 .333 0-1
BAL 8-8 .500 1-1
DAL 8-7 .533 1-1
OAK 8-4 .667 2-0
NYG 3-8 .273 0-1
MIA 5-4 .556 1-0
HOU 7-3 .700 2-0
CIN 3-5 .375 0-0

Buffalo doesn’t lose when they get to the big game. Scary. Combine them with Houston, Oakland, and Miami’s results, and you begin to understand why the AFC is 13-7 in the Sunby Cup over the past twenty years.

"So why twenty years? Well, all of this might be a nice measure that we can follow. Constantly watching the overall franchise record would be like watching a pot boil...it isn't going to change soon; however, following the past twenty years will be very interesting as it'll be drastically affected by a team's current season record and what year rotates out.

I'll be updating this yearly, so make sure to stay tuned!"
